So i had a little conversation regarding the DMCA’s on my account with an official nintendo employee from their live-chat.

16:58 (me) Thank you. Is it possible to check the legitimacy of those takedown notices in nintendo’s name?
17:00 Ralf (N) : To be honest : To my knowledge we do not even act on “tumblr”. As far as i know we only have channels on Facebook, twitter and youtube, instagramm too (in rare cases also twitch.tv)
17:01 Ralf (N) : wich networks are checked additionally is not known to me as i said.
17:01 Ralf (N) : Especially on tumblr and other “art-sites” that contain and share alot of fanart it shouldnt even (Especially according to my opinion) come to this kind of notice.
17:06 Ralf (N) Well, as soon as nintendo properties are being sold for money (speak sold pictures etc.) its possible that nintendo might step in juristically and justify it, wich is understandable. But aslong as something is free and is not advertised as “Sponsoered by nintendo” or described as such, it should be absolutely fine.
17:07 (Me) : The nintendo content was not posted for money. Only the services of the artists was promoted, like freelancing.
17:08 (Me) : like a portfolio.
So yeah, this means @staff has been lying to me in the email where they claimed that nintendo send the emails/takedown notices. I got statement by their OFFICIAL SUPPORT that they have no idea whats going on and that it shouldnt even happen in the first place. So yeah, what now Tumblr?
