If you have Photoshop and Illustrator, check this out:

You can actually make simple 3D objects using Illustrator’s 3D filter!  All you have to do is select go to Filter>3D>Extrude and you can make simple furniture, desks, chairs, couches and other objects with lighting! Of course, you can color and texturize it in the raster program of your choice and the 3D ai files are relatively light (only a couple hundred KB more than an average ai vector file). 

Say goodbye to drawing furniture and shelves!
