As someone who has lived extensively with people who do not adhere to certain concepts of gender binaries, I don’t think that’s the case. I’ve seen people genderswap a character as transmen and transwomen or changed the sexuality of the character as well.  And honestly, a gender swapped character is based on what you want see in the swap; if you want to make a character trans in a gender swap, by all means, you have the tools to do it, go for it! Instead of simply saying it’s transphobic, if you’re an artist, (or even if you’re a writer!) you can make a swapped character trans, androgynous, non-binary or whatever you’d like. The fact that people are saying this out of “implication” demonstrates how dangerous tumblr as a medium is sometimes.
