Rin cut off Morrigan’s wings in order to cut down her possibility of escaping even more, compounding that with her blindness. While Morrigan suffered great amounts of pain during amputation, Rin decided to burn off the nerve endings of Morrigan’s stubs so that she doesn’t feel any phantom pain. Basically, Morrigans wings are nothing more than four clusters of dead skin. Strangely enough, in her mind, having Rin amputate her wings is a blessing.
