Well it wasn’t a quick change, Peridot was being pushed around by Jasper for a while, especially during their workouts. She couldn’t hang with how rough Jasper and Clara like it. But when she met Amelia, Amelia took a liking to her. But because Amelia is usually mute, Peridot felt confident, not being called a bitch or pathetic all of the time, and she wanted to stay with Amelia because she doesn’t insult her all of the time. That confidence turned into cockiness which is why she’s so sharp with her come backs. It wasn’t too quick if you consider the gap of irl time between when Amelia first banged her and the next time someone asked for her.
