Generally, characters serving Rin like Mila and Hugo do so willingly, and honestly I gel with the idea that Rin lets them free if they would like as well as not killing them. She doesn’t harvest souls like her creator but obsesses instead over being worshipped like an idle. It gives her a merciful and human side so she’s not just a heartless, horny mistress, having a son would play into that too. None of Rin’s slaves are particularly suicidal, Rokzi is bitter and condescending at best. Morrigan’s story was something that plays into how Morrigan was before Rin came in, truly evil and vengeful.
