This is an odd question for me to answer but I’ll try my best to answer it.

I suppose it would depend on what you define as “original”

For me, When I’m thinking up new concepts or making lore for myself, I take inspiration from lots of different sources and combine them to make things that I believe are original. 

Doing this helps me make new things, or at least to me its new things and these new things are “original “ to me, even though they’re more of a mish-mash of different concepts that I find interesting.

I could probably go deeper into how I feel about originality but that might go on for awhile.

Amen to that! The best way to make universes and characters is by exposing yourself to a whole slew of fiction!
