It depends on the character honestly.  Some have a lot more thought put into them like say Lucian and Beatrix which takes weeks to fully plan out both in terms of design and personality. Drevio went through a few drafts as well before I was happy with him. Other characters don’t take nearly as long, Yolene and Mila didn’t take very long to design and characterize because they have pretty simple archetypes. It all depends on how much importance they have in each universe, honestly.
