I’ve gone to a few Pride Events with my friends and found that it was a sorta busy environment but pretty social and fun overall. For the most part I haven’t seen any children, or people with their genitals on full display, so whatever pride parade you went to sounds a little too problematic to be an official Pride Event. If there were people at the event who were naked, someone should’ve called the police and had them arrested right away, much sooner than you have time to commentate on the fact. Most public Pride Events I’ve gone to have a good amount of security and police officers who would knee-jerk arrest someone for displaying genitals to anyone, let alone children. Are you sure this was an actual Pride Event? Or just an incredibly mismanaged stag party?
If I come off as skeptical and condescending, it’s because I’m incredibly skeptical and condescending of this entire anecdote.
i’ve seen them myself actually, and several of my friends at pride have seen across the country have seen this same shit.
ignoring it happens doesnt stop it from happening
I’ll raise you one better. If you DO see naked people walking around near children, it is within your legal right to call the police. People like that are part of the problem, but ignoring them doesn’t help either. There is nothing -phobic about using common sense when you see someone with their genitals out and inform the authorities. Don’t ignore it if you see it.
Public indecency and lewd and lascivious conduct are universal offenses that apply to EVERYONE.
