I was thinking of adding Lars’s space captain stuff, but he doesn’t have the scar so I’d have to either make his incident on Homeworld canon OR find a way around it.  But honestly, I prefer having him just be a normal kid just trying to win the attention of a cute gal he likes! Of course with help from his perpetually drunk den-mother/bad influence, Vidalia. 

I think giving Lars that direct relationships with Homeworld that he has in the show would kinda muddy the relatively Earth-centric nature of the Steven Universe AU.
