Ahead of the Kusanagi family’s yearly pilgrimage to their expensive vacation villa at the northeast coasts of Steym, there was a massive controversy in the royal family court. GOUMATSU-JI GENDOUMANUE, a wealthy landowner of that region undercut the landlord hired by Dahlia and Saisyu Kusanagi and bought the land where the family villa resides to hike the rent. Uncovered as a money laundering scheme, the family sent their elder son, Kiri to either assassinate or apprehend Goumatsu-Ji to stand trial. However, a pictotype of a surly landlord doesn’t do the man justice compared to a face-to-face meeting.
After a brief discussion and an exchange of deals, Kiri managed to lower the rent to a far more reasonable 4,000 shillings per stay compared to 8,000 per person. All he needed to do was sell Kyo up the river by promising Goumatsu-Ji a breaking of the spoiled prince later down the line.
